Baird/ Keathley Wedding

I had the opportunity to shoot my first civil wedding this weekend. I was a little nervous. A) Because I wasn't exactly sure what to expect at a civil wedding and B) my littlest sister was the bride.

The weather had us a little worried as it poured on us right after the rehearsal. The ground was already soaked with water and we could only imagine what it would be like the day of the wedding.

It actually turned out to be a nice day. The sun came out and my shoes only got stuck in the mud a couple of times. The wedding took place out at a lake and the scenery was beautiful. Everyone was very cooperative with the photos and they all turned out fantastic!

I was excited to have a good friend of mine assist me in taking some of the photos for this wedding and I am truly grateful for her help because there is no way I would have been able to capture everything by myself. There was so much going on at the same time and with my being 7 months pregnant, I wasn't as fast or agile as I normally would be.

I had to go to some extremes to get the photos I wanted... one being holding a slimy worm up by the camera so that the ring bearer (my 2 year old son) would look at the camera instead of the worms crawling on the ground. It did work, I got him to look, but I felt dirty afterwards! Also, I walked out onto the dock to get the beautiful lake in the background of the pictures of the Bride and Groom. My balance is off anyway because of the pregnancy, I honestly thought I was going into the lake a few times!

Overall this weekend was a great experience and I am glad I had the opportunity to do it. And I am very pleased with the result. Now I have about 4000 photos to sort through and proof on the website. Fun, Fun, Fun!!! Look for the new photos on my site soon!!!
